About Lakeside Physiotherapy

Moving forward together

Hello and welcome to Lakeside, a physiotherapy clinic on Grange Road, West Kirby, Wirral. I'm Sue Bintley-Bagot, the founder of Lakeside Physiotherapy, I have a passion for individualised tailored treatment, built upon a foundation of thorough diagnosis and clinical excellence.

At Lakeside Physiotherapy, our service is personal to you and our goal is always to enable you to reach your goals. Your body and your problems are unique to you, so we take care to treat you as such. Your concerns, however big or small, are our problems and we are committed to resolve them with you. Rather than providing ‘cookie-cutter’ style solutions and taking short cuts, we will continually work with you to find the root cause of your issue and personally journey with you, moving forward together, until we resolve them.

After qualifying in 1992, I worked in the several NHS trusts across Merseyside - gaining expertise in various musculoskeletal conditions, I came to live and work on the Wirral as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner over 18 years ago and led musculoskeletal services working with local GP’s and Orthopaedic Consultants. We have continued that good rapport and all work closely to enable seamless care.

We offer expertise in a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions, such as orthopaedics, rheumatology, joint and soft tissue injuries and biomechanics. We offer individual post cancer rehabilitation and cancer rehab exercise classes, hydrotherapy, pilates and yoga. I continue to work closely with GP’s and through the year I am a visiting lecturer and examiner for Chester University. I have co-written and authored published works in leading journals and books.

We are all registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, HCPC, BUPA accredited, and work with all major insurance companies. We undertake medicolegal work.

You can view our full range of physiotherapy services in the section below or, to make an appointment, call us on 0151 625 6294 or 07495238119.

Home Visits

Sometimes, treatment at home can be more appropriate. Whether it is due to reduced mobility, feeling more secure at home or whether you would like advice regarding aids, adaptations and equipment.

Our staff have extensive experience and knowledge of mobility problems and know the importance of maintaining independence. We are more than happy to complete a home visit and will bring all necessary equipment required.

Lakeside Physiotherapy has teamed up locally with RKS Occupational Therapy Services, to ensure that we provide you with the very best Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy advice.

Above all, we will always treat you and your home with courtesy and respect.

Our West Kirby clinic is easy to find, only a few metres from West Kirby train station and The Concourse. There are a set of stairs up to the clinic, so if you have mobility problems which prevent you from climbing stairs, a home visit may be a better option for you.

Cancer Rehabilitation

The role of exercise is becoming increasingly important in cancer care and is key to recovery after treatments, improving well-being and reducing the likelihood of co-morbidities and cancer recurrence. We believe no one facing cancer should be left to rehabilitate on their own. PINC & STEEL programs support men and women with any type of cancer.

Sue is a fully certified PINC and STEEL cancer rehabilitation physiotherapist. Having trained with Lou James, the founder of PINC and STEEL international,New Zealand, she has completed all levels of training to help men and women during and after cancer treatments. Individual treatments are tailored to individuals needs and are suitable for anyone recovering from cancer, whether surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy. Group classes, known as Next Steps, are small classes and incorporate cardio exercise, yoga and pilates.

If you would like any further information on our physiotherapy led cancer rehabilitation program with Sue please do get in touch.

In July 2018 be we were very fortunate to launch our Hydrotherapy service in Hoylake.

The Pool is brand new and located at The Old Garden. We currently care for residents with in the care home and have been allowed access to the pool for non residents.

Heated to between 34-36ºC - the pool offers an ideal way of treating many musculoskeletal issues that are sometimes difficult to treat in the clinic or at home. We see a variety of conditions for pool rehabilitation from hip and knee surgery, to shoulder injury and surgery, neurological conditions well as mobility exercise programs for the elderly and conditioning programs for the more athletic. The pool has step and hoist access.
